If you're going to try and improve on your personal best then do it with gusto! Ian Jackson has not had much luck with his Chevy Camero this year. Only last month at Shakespear County the engine decided to let go. It was touch or go whether Ian was going to make it to the Bug Jam this weekend. So it was a pleasant surprise to see the orange Camero turn up on the back of his trailer.
For the last couple of weeks he has been hard at work on the car and has fitted new parts, tweaked old ones and now the car sounds so much better. And on Ian's his first and only run of the day he run 11.79 seconds. Such an improvement but now he has a problem. He has to try and slow down! Good luck to Ian this weekend, but not too much as I would like a pop at the final of course!
A big shout out to James Petch who couldn't be here this weekend. James has been crewing for Petch this year and he will be sorely missed.
Commiseration to Steve Taylor in his emaculate Ford Anglia who on a practice run cracked his engine mount. Never mind, enjoy the Bug Jam atmosphere.
So, there's not much to add at this point as this is only the first day and racing doesn't start until tomorrow afternoon.
If you fancy a weekend of Drag Racing and lots more pop on down to the Bug Jam.
